AirLink Unveils High-Power 6.1-7.2GHz Wireless Video Data Transmission Module for Ultra-Long-Range Applications
The AL7204 stands out in the market with its staggering 4W (36dBm) maximum transmit power, providing an unprecedented link budget for remote data transmission. The module offers five adjustable power levels starting from 25mW, allowing operators to scale output based on mission requirements. To ensure reliable performance in diverse environments, the device covers an expansive frequency range from 6.1GHz to 7.2GHz, featuring 64 distinct channels across 8 bands (including Band-X and Band-L) to bypass common signal interference.
High-power transmission often leads to thermal challenges, which the AL7204 addresses through a sophisticated dual-cooling architecture. The module is encased in a CNC-machined aluminum housing and integrated with an active cooling fan to maintain optimal operating temperatures during sustained 4W broadcasting. For specialized installations where every gram counts, the module’s shell is removable, reducing its total weight to well below 35g.
Integration with modern control systems is seamless thanks to the built-in SmartAudio 2.1 protocol. This allows for half-duplex serial communication, enabling users to adjust frequency bands and power levels remotely via software or flight control interfaces. For field-side adjustments, the module features dual physical buttons and a clear LED telemetry system that uses specific flashing patterns to indicate current channel and power settings.
Designed as a central hub for video telemetry, the AL7204 supports a wide input voltage range of DC 7V–36V. It also includes an internal 5V/1A BEC (voltage output) to power external cameras or auxiliary sensors, significantly simplifying the wiring complexity for remote hardware setups.
